pelvic pain advice

Hi. I was sterilized a few weeks ago and have been in general pain from my lower scar since. I went to docs a few weeks ago, and he thought it could just be my body still healing, but it has been getting increasingly worse.

Now I am in agony. My lower back is sore, and it hurts when I go to the loo(back passage)

Could this be pelvic inflammatory disease? or is that only linked with sexual diseases??? Any advice would be great. I'm gonna try to get an emergency appt tomorrow with docs, but I would prefer a female, I think!!

Are you constipated? Have you been taken strong painkillers? Are you wounds healed now or could they be infected?

adozenroses · 05/12/2006 17:33

No, I'm not constipated and my wounds have healed up great. I also try not to take many tablets, but the last couple of days I have been taking paracetamol for the pain as it driving me mad.

not medical at all but def sounds like dodgy infection to me... i would def get an emergency appt, or failing that, go to hosp. if it is PID it can get nasty i think. and no its not just sexual - you get warnings about it in packs of tampons...

jeez, good luck!

OK, GP may well recommend some swabs are done to eliminate infection. Can you book directly with nurse and just get swabs sone or do you need to go via GP?

Nurse in our surgery is really popular so you have to wait ages for an appt. Maybe the doctor may get me an emergency appt with her.

Have to admit, it has been getting rather bad the last couple of days.

Try the nurse in the first instance but this does seem like an infection following the sterilisation op.

In this respect I would also consider contacting the team/department at hospital who carried out your original operation.
