Lower Back pain ongoing.... Have you had any vitamins and minerals that have helped ?

I take 400mg Ibruprofen all day every day and am in constant nagging discomfort. Im awaiting X-rays and blood results just to rule out anything more sinister than general lower back pain that requires physio and core strengthening. Does anyone have any success with any vitamins and minerals that can help with this? Hate being on medication every day and would love to her what you do.

In a word? No.
The only thing that has helped is an osteopath and boring exercises every day. Not on meds, but it's been years and my back is still a bit of a bugger. I do whatever I like (walk, ride, run) but I have to stretch every day or it starts to hurt again.

Hi Chicinwellies

You ask if anyone has benefitted from Vit D . The answer is yes.

Have a look here , on this thread, www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_health/2421492-Vitimin-D-can-it-have-this-effect

There are significant effects upon weak bones etc.

Hope it is helpful.

Thank you very much for this. I've had my bloods tested today, I wonder if they will test for VitD def, (Im just going to call them now, if its not been sent away will ask for that to be added on too). I may well try some for a few months, as I gather it takes time like everything to become ingrained in your system and for results to show.
I cant even do Yoga for Lower Back Pain or Sciatica or Over 60s pilates, and Im 37, 9st, and from the outside I guess 'look' very healthy.
