Have been seen by rheumatologist consultant twice over the last year re joint pains. Lots of tests, no diagnosis, one 4wk trial of anti-inflammatories.
Last appt was June, then had an MRI scan of ankles July.
Symptoms worse over the summer. Two bad spells including being unable to walk at all, ankle agony.
A recent letter says the MRI scan in July shows tendon problems including a short tear in one tendon, I am now awaiting an orthopaedic appt, Jan 2016, and a rheumatology appointment - was to be in Oct but waiting list means that they can't say when it will be.
Is 2 months typical to be given MRI results that show damage? and then several more months before meeting a health professional to consider/act on those results?
I felt like a torn tendon was a finding that needed attention. Have I misjudged this?
Is it the case that there won't be any particular treatment for a torn tendon? Maybe several more months doesn't matter.
