cancer or not??

Hi

Hoping for some quick advice for my father in law from you laovely ladies.

He has been having prostate problems for the past year and has urgently been called in to see consultatnt as his levels have gone up 30%, apparantly consultant has said his prostate is massive and he has to go in for biopsy next thursday. He is a bit confused now cos consultant has not given indication as to whether or not an enlarged prostate means cancer??

has any one had any experiences of this to help him??

A rise in the PSA level can signal prostate cancer, but it can also be a sign of benign prostate disease and infection. Unfortunately the only way to tell these apart is by doing a biopsy.
