please anyone! have you been late from morning after pill?

Hello, im absolutely beside myself at the moment.

My last period was 20th august. me and my partner had an accident on the 5th september. i took the MAP the next morning.
Its now the 25th sept and im normally a little earlier each month but so far my period has failed to show. ive done a pregnancy test and it was negative. I went to my doctor and he told me to wait another week?

Im panicking because i really donot want anymore children! Ive got a 7 year old with autism, a 3 year old and a 22 month old! all boys and they are a right handful. having another baby would devastate me. i just cant cope with anymore :(
I couldnt have a termination (I had one when i was young and regretted it ever since)

Scary thing is ive had really bad nausea this week which is making me even more worried. i just cant shake the feeling of being sick!

Has anyone ever been late with the MAP and NOT fell pregnant?

And if you did get pregnant with the MAP how long did it take you to to get a positive test?

Doctor is more than happy to book me in for a sterilisation if i do eventually get my period.

The MAP can make you feel sick. If you've been sick it won't be effective.

This is what I've found:
95% of expected pregnancies when taken within 24 hours of sex
85% if taken within 25-48 hours
58% if taken within 49-72 hours

You weren't late taking it, I'm sure your period will show soon.

I totally missed a period, was feeling sick & bloated but was all ok :) I was convinced it hasn't worked, how long after accident dos you take it & was it from doctor?

hi jodie i took it the morning after sex! I went to a chemist to get the pill and i had to talk to the chemist in a room so he could give me advice about it. he said it could make me feel sick after taking the pill. I felt nothing. its only the last five days ive started to feel nauseous.

After seeing my doctor today he thought it could be early pregnancy symptoms! :( so advised me to wait another week.

The pill prevents ovulation. If you have a 28day cycle then you would have already ovulated by the 5th. That means you have a much higher chance of pregnancy. But you might still be ok. I hope everything works out the way you want it.

I had MAP, no period then 2 weeks later ectopic pregnancy, ruptured Fallopian tube which necessitated emergency surgery. So it kind of worked, just not the way I would have liked.

If you took pill that quickly after sex you have a really high chance of it working :) fingers crossed

I took the MAP within 24 hours and thought no more of it. Was feeling off colour weeks later, thought it was flu. It wasn't. Have a very DD now who was very unexpected. Do a test then you can figure out what you do next.

Yeah I had convinced myself that I was pregnant. My boobs were huge and with blue vains all over them, my stomach was feeling funny I read loads and loads on Google about it not working. Then I came on 3/4 days late. The relief

Late isn't a good sign, nor is the fact that you were bang on mid cycle when the accident occurred. I'd prepare yourself for a positive test tbh. Sorry not to be more hopeful. The MAP is not as effective as people think it is.

I waa late when I took it it might have been about 2 weeks. It does mess up your normal cycle or you can skip a month.

I was late, and it did indeed turn out I was pregnant and I took it within 14 hours. I got a positive about 3 weeks late.

I'd test again in a week. Really hope you get the result you're after OP.

thank you for your replies. this is an update.. still no AF!! last test i did on sunday was negative. ive got an appointment on friday morning to see the docs so we will see what happens then.

Hi.. I know this is years old just wondering what ever happened? were you pregnant then? I'm going through the same thing I'm a week late too ,is been over a month since I had unprotected sex Also too plan b took 4 pregnancy test already and they show I'm not I'm still worry!!!
