hi guys
im trying this as a shot as after weekly trips to doctors and 2 homeopaths im at a loss as to where to go from here. since my LO was 2 months he has had eczema on his back and we were switched from nutrimigen to neocate with dairy intolerence being raised. he is now 11 months and just been switched to puramino. Now our homeopath has advised us to stay away from - dairy, corn, wheat, gluten, rye, barley, soy, tomatoes, onions, sausages, strawberries , raspberries and blueberries, peanuts and latex.

my son is now worse than ever and being prescribed more flucloxicillin on a bigger dose. he is constant scratching and his chin and cheeks and above top lip are red raw. my view is every time he takes a bottle hes flared up.

we had periods where he was eating alot of these foods and was not as bad as he is now. hes been in and out of primary care.

does anyone have any advice? oh and hes cutting 4 top teeth , 2 already just cut if this helps?

i have heard alot of formulas are made of corn, and ive used every cream there is to no avail apart from double base being a super moisturiser. ive tried arborne the lot!

sorry to ramble on just so much to put in to get right answers xxxxx

Eczema is really hard.

DS had bad eczema until we found out exactly what all his allergies are .
I was very firm with the DR and got a referral to the allergy clinic at the local hospital. In the meantime I kept a food diary and noted when his eczema flared up.
The peadiatrician looked at it and said right we will test for ....

It turned out he was allergic to eggs nuts fish sesame and soya.
I hadn't realised how many things had soya in ( ie bread) and his eczema finally went away once his diet was free from all the allergens.
It just occasionally flares up now in hot weather.

You are right to take this seriously. Has his blood been tested for deficiencies?

It may be easier at this age to keep his diet simple and to add things slowly and keep a food diary whilst doing as above suggested and push for an appt at the hospital. The other thing about excema is application of cream, lots and lots and lots, I use hydromol and I put it on my daughters legs every nappy change, have asked nursery to do this as well and they are super helpful with this. Even when her skin is good I still put lots of cream on her to keep it that way. You also need to apply in direction of hair line and not to rub it in just smooth in gently so as not to start itch scratch cycle
