Do I put my foot down about DS seeing a doctor?

He's 14yo and has spots. On his face they're small pimples and blackheads, not inflamed and apart from an occasional flare up not that noticeable from a distance, although there are a lot of them and they're all over his face.

They are much worse on his back and neck. They look sore and angry and his collar often has blood on it.

He says he's not bothered by them, doesn't want to try any over the counter treatments or see a doctor.

I'm torn between thinking it's good that he's not bothered and thinking I really should get it sorted for him.

WWYD?

Would he be willing to try a body wash containing salicylic acid?

He might be embarrassed to go to the doctor, worried about looking vain. But angry bleeding spots can't be ignored I don't think. The wash might be worth a go before going to the GP.
