ds2 (5) has come home from school complaining of tummyache and has just been very sick. He now tells me he bumped heads with another boy at school today but didn't tell the teacher. worried this might be the cause. help!

Hmmm not sure, how hard was the bump? Wouldn't have thought it would cause tummy ache just vomiting IYKWIM

Give your doctor or nhs direct a call to be on the safe side.

Is he unusually tired seeming?

vomiting is one of the symptoms of concussion as far as I know. I was always told in this case to not let him fall asleep for a while and keep his fluids up. I don't think there's much else anyone can do about it though.
hope he feels better soon.

Keep an eye on him, I would suggest ringing NHS direct but they will tell you to go to Casulty.

If he gets worse or vomits some more then ring your GP.

A 5 year old may say they have tummy ache but mean they feel sick. If he has been sick and bumped his head I would get him checked. Good luck.

Vomiting is one of the symptons of concussion, although you should only worry if he continues to be sick and/or appears confused/disorientated in any way. Spent a wonderful afternoon recently with dss in a&e throwing up everywhere but turned out to be nothing serious. Hope he's better soon
