Can anyone else smell onions?

I have had a REALLY bad cold for almost 2 weeks and have not been able to taste or smell anything until yesterday when ALL I can smell is onions. No one else can smell them. Has anyone else lost their sense of taste for good or does it come back.

I meant smell!

How odd! Poor you. I have never heard of this but I would think it would come back eventually, surely?
