DS has temp of 39.2 and cannot stop shaking

A little concerned here, he is very lethargic, very 'sniffy' keeps shaking but not sure whether 39.2 is very high. Any advice please? I know people will say call the dr, ours are not easy to get through to and don't want to drag him outside in the cold unless i have to.

get his temp down with calpol or nurofen.

Sounds like this fluey bug that is going around (which is varying in every person) Lots of drinks tooflush it through him.

Hope he's well soon. I had this the other week and couldn't get out of bed for days, it really took it out of me.

give him ibroprofen to get temp down and cool towel him

Tepid sponging?

Ah poor pet, paracetamol to get temp down and contact NHS 24 for advice.

He'll moan and complain bitterly but as soon as his temp comes down a little he should start to feel a bit brighter.
Turn the heating down and open a window too.

Got any ice lollies?
You really need to get hold of brufen if you can,is there anybody who can get to the shops for you?

Thank you everyone, Just needed assurance i was doing the right things really, nothing like a paranoid guilty mum - nursery called me because he was ill and i almost did not send him in this morning but had to go to work so feeling like a terrible mother as i never should have sent him in in the first place.

We've all been there,don't feel bad.

He has just fallen asleep aain so will leave the damp towels until he wakes up again! just feel so helpless

The sleep should do him the world of good.

My little one has the same symptoms, but when the calpol stops bringing my ds2 temperature down, i will call the doctors/nhs.
