No it was about 12 hours for my daughter I think ...

PurpleWithRed · 26/07/2015 17:09

Nope. Calls are triaged, so callbacks depend on how busy the people who are going to call you back are and how worried they are about you compared to the other people on their list.

djrmrcbhyvf · 26/07/2015 17:12

Then there must be some seriously ill people out there. Think I'll just give up and go and be another statistic at A&E that shouldn't be there but has no other option ...

Wow. We've used them a few times and they've always been fab. Always for the kids though and for stuff which otherwise would have us at A and E.

Sparklingbrook · 26/07/2015 17:16

We waited 3 hours at A&E last week, it just seemed to be a very busy evening.

wellies · 26/07/2015 17:18

That's a long wait. I haven't used the 111 number before but needed them this morning, got through after about 10 minutes, doctor called back in less than 10 minutes and I had a prescription in my hand less than an hour after original call. Couldn't fault them.

IcecreamHavoc · 26/07/2015 17:21

I'm still waiting for them to call me back too.

It's been years. Do I Win?

DefinitelyMaybeNo · 26/07/2015 17:27

111 sent me straight to A&E - no wait for a call back. Got to A&E - 5hours wait ????!

djrmrcbhyvf · 26/07/2015 17:31

I'll take a long book with me to A&E then - war and peace might just cover it? Hmm

I'm guessing your medical issue isn't very serious then? Go to gp tomorrow.

djrmrcbhyvf · 26/07/2015 17:41

Depends what you call serious. If I don't see a doctor today I will spend the next 24 hrs in hospital where I spent Fri and Sat ... Surely much more sensible and cost effective to deal with it before it becomes a life threatening issue. They were quite happy to send me an ambulance but not let me see a GP - different teams . The system is mad.

In that case yanbu. Strange that they've not phoned you back if it's that serious.

Sirzy · 26/07/2015 17:53

Call them again?

djrmrcbhyvf · 26/07/2015 18:02

Might get dh to try when he gets back.
