Hi, I've had upper back ache and sometimes shoulder ache since my teens. My upper back clicks quite a bit too. This does seem to help it though.
I've noticed that for a wile now, my daughters does the same. Sometimes when I just pick her up while cuddling her, her back clicks too. She says it feels nice and that it's been aching in school. We both have good posture, I used to dance three times a week throughout my childhood and early teens. My daughter has special needs and does the least exercise she can get away with. She is also quite a way through puberty which is quite early but not worryingly so.
Do you think I should take her to the doctors, or a therapist? If I could get something sorted for her now, it would help in the long run.
Thanks

I think a trip to the dr will be a good thing....I have mild scoliosis...it could be that.

Have a google of "Mild scoliosis upper back" and see the images and read a bit.

Me too - I also have mild scoliosis, I was in my late 20s when I discovered it wasn't "normal" for your back to hurt most of the time! I also have very tight connective tissues all over the scoliosis area - exercise really is the only thing that helps and when in a lot of pain a good osteopath.

Thank you both, I'll read up on that. Sounds as if it could be..

My back doesn't look at all curved it's only by going to the osteopath they can tell by the way some of the joints don't move properly and also because it was different when I was pregnant which is due to the extra hormones making it more "elastic" sadly all the relief in my upper back was counteracted by the crippling SPD!!!
