Lump on roof of mouth

I have discovered a smooth small bump on the roof of my mouth - could this be just trauma from eating something spikey or do I need to see dentist/doctor? Thanks

Where is it? You usually have a couple right at the front of your mouth behind your teeth - they're part of your palate.

No it's more in the middle of the palate slightly to the left

I've got a couple there too. Maybe best to pop into your dentist to reassure you though.

I've had that. Smaller than say a half embedded pea? A little tender but not sore? Scared the life out of me (I'm a smoker) but after a day or two it disappeared. Had it twice, years apart so wasn't scared the second time.

I'd say give it a couple of days and if no change, see the doc.

That's exactly it FortyCoats - hopefully that's the case!

I get the odd one of those also. They usually go fairly quickly particularly if I press on them firmly and pop them

Ha thanks tobysmum - it's day 4 now and still present - may call dentist on Monday if still there
