Depends how vital it is that you don't get pregnant to be honest. the wee sticks is Persona- search the archives there's loads on it.

I used a cervical cap without any problems for 12 years (through my teens and 20s). Very hard to find someone to fit them, and deeply unfashionable - the lack of data about how reliable they are has made a few partners of mine suspicious that it won't work. But they don't give me cystitis as diaphragms do, they seem to be more reliable than a diaphragm as they form a sort of seal round your cervix and if you put it in carefully you don't taste of spermicide as it can't get out, and you don't have to add any more of the stuff for a re-run the following morning (sorry if that's tmi). Actually I ended up not bothering with the sparmicide for about 5 years as it was working OK without, but that's not what the instructions say to do. Worth considering at least.

I abstain

no, just kidding, but it must be the best non-hormonal form of contraception

I do a bit of knowing my cycle, a bit of condoms (almost always at my request), a bit of withdrawal and hellavu lot of keeping my fingers crossed

I am being considered for sterilisation so this is all while we wait so to speak.

Quick update long after thread has died

Pleased to inform that a) I've just finished a rather heavy period b) I am therefore not pregnant and c) ergo the non hormonal IUD works.

Despite this, I will not risk it and makesure we are always 'double bagged' in futire

sorry if TMI
