Cancer worries

Changed name for this one.

Possibly being very silly. Have made an appointment to see doctor next week, as bleeding from bottom. Also bruising easily (possibly anaemia from blood loss) and some funny tummy pains. Terrified it's cancer- MIL died from colon cancer.

Possibly being very silly i know, but it's on my mind

Can't you see your GP a little earlier?

Hope my experience may reassure you a bit.

About 2 and a half years ago I had a lot of stomach ache but ignored it for 6 months. Eventually got tested and I was very anaemic (tho didn't bruise easily, just felt v. tired).
After having delightful bottom probing test, was told quite bluntly that I had cancer and had to have a section of colon removed. One week later, had op, within 5 days was home, 2 days later going for walks, a week after that redecorating. Back at work 1 month after op, then had six months of chemo (took tablets at home), had one day off work during chemo, since then absolutely no probs.

It's very likely that you DON'T have cancer, but even if you do, colon cancer is not the end of the world if you catch it in time.

Best of luck.

Let us kmow how you get on.

DP also has bleeding from the anus. The doctor told him it was more worrying if it was dark blood rather than bright red (which DP has), he said if its dark its coming from up inside the body where bright red usually points to piles or a fissure.

DP has also been anaemic in the past and is constantly tired (but suffers with insomnia).

Can't get appointment until Tuesday. Wanted to see my female GP but she on hols, so seeing male one. Blood is red and fresh looking rather than dark, so maybe that's good.
