I need to have a couple of teeth out and have booked to have them done with an oral surgeon that visits my dentist.
I had to book a long time in advance and whilst I checked that I didn't have anything on that day, in the interim it's turning into a ridiculously busy week.
I had one tooth out previously and that hurt big time - different dentist, I had an abscess, and one of the teeth I'm having out is because he cracked it when taking the first one out.

However it was a while ago and I can't remember how long the hurt lasted or how out of it I was, plus there were the complications of the abscess.
Am I mad to consider having these teeth out now when I can't stop and take mega pain killers and go to sleep if there's an issue? Or should I just wait until October (when the next available slot for the oral surgeon is available and that I'm not on holiday).
As it is I'm not able to have a sedative as I haven't got anyone that could go with me so will have to have them with local anesthetic (again, not had sedative before but dentist had assumed that I would as it seems to be the more painless option).
And they're on different sides of my mouth so how long will they take to heal - am I going to be eating soup for ages as I can't chew on either side of my mouth either?
I did try talking to my dentist but they wanted me to get it done so said to keep the appointment and they'd ring back to confirm closer to the time. Now it's getting closer so I need to make a decision.
I know I need to get them done but I'm looking at my to do list (and knowing I have to be out and about and organising school fete at the end of the week) and thinking I'm mad to do it now. But then I'm mad to wait until October too. Arggh.
Anybody got any more recent concrete experience that could help me make up my mind?
Thanks!
