Help me to stay calm. Sore tender left boob. Not period related.

Woke up with an achy tender left boob today. I had a vague feeling that I might have slept on it strangely but it is quite tender. Alarming that it is just one side. Nipple and breast are normal looking, not swollen hot or red. No pain in armpit and I check regularly for lumps. Not bfing, kids are both in school.

You probably squashed it in your sleep. I had an achey right boob 2 years ago. It niggled me enough to go to the doctors, and within 24 hours I was sent for a mammogram. Nothing. I think it's because I'm in perimenopause, and I've gained a bit of weight and things change. Wear something supportive in bed, but if it continues do go to the doctors. Always worth getting things checked out. I now take mega does of Evening Primrose Oil (at breast doctors request) and I get no more pain.

If it's any consolation, it's unlikely to be sinister if you've just woken up with a sore boob with no other features. Breast cancer is generally lump related, but the non-lump cancers trends to involve discharge or eczema type features.
