Is my DS's skin normal?

My 12 week old DS gets spots and blackheads on his face, especially around his mouth where all his dribble comes out! but he also has quite dry flaky skin. Is this something he's grow out of or should I do something to treat it? I just wash him with tap water at the minute. I've heard you can use olive oil on dry skin but thought this might make the spots worse?

I hope the poor thing hasn't inherited my combination skin!

DS has spotty skin and also the blackheads. i've wondered if he'll grow out of it too! i use boots baby sensitive range for bathing and moisturising.

I don't use anything on his skin (apart from baby shampoo as he also has long greasy hair - he must sound more like a teenager than a 12 week old baby!) Are Aqueous cream and vaseline fine to use on their faces? Sorry if being over cautious!

is the baby shampoo Johnsons? If it is that could be your problem. most of these 'baby' and 'sensitive' washes and wipes are tripe. I would pop down to your local health shop or go to the organic section of boots and the like and only use natural ingredients. Alot of bottles have sensitive plastered all over them and if you check the ingredients it is so not true - don't be fooled.

Yes it is Johnson's - but I've only just started to use it and his skin was dry/spotty long before that. But I think I will change to natural products just to be on the safe side - is the organic stuff in boots in the baby section?

I think so, - the only brand they seem to do now is 'Little Me'

Burt's Bees has some great baby skin care products. Ds went through a stage of whiteheads the first few months.
