HELPING IN CLINICAL TESTS?

There is a history of cancer in my family.

I have decided to join some clinical tests in genetics for stomach cancer.
I have spoken to the hospital involved and they are sending out relevant consent forms etc.

Has anyone been involved in anything ike this?

What should I expect?

It might be worth bearing in mind that if they find out that you are predisposed to get any genetically related illness you may find it impossible to get life or health insurance in the future. You would need to weigh that against the stress/ usefullness of knowing. They don't necessarily tell you that.

I already have life insurance thru work... I don't think they can cancel that.
I have checked private insurance companies in the past and I would have to disclose the cancer in the family anyway...
I am trying to be practical. If it is there I assume there would eventually have to be an op. My sister is doing it too. She wants to know because of her kids.

Thanks for the advice though...
