What is this immunisation?

Received in the post this morning an appointment for my 1 year old dd to have an immunisation for: Men C Booster & Hib Booster

What is this? It's not mentioned in her red book, except the ones at 2, 3 & 4 months which she's had. Am relly puzzling over this one, and can't get hold of the Health Visitor. Can anyone shed any light?

I am sure the hib booster is done around 1 yr. DD1 had it and was the only one that she reacted to very badly (fine now but gave us a big scare with emergency mid night GP visit etc etc) There is some contraversy about booster but I am not technical enough to comment. I know when I asked about it on here a few years ago I got a lot of tech info about them. Maybe worth looking in archives?

tissy · 13/11/2006 13:17

mentions HIB

Thanks everyone. No she hasn't even been invited for MMR yet as she's only 12 months. In her red book it says:

2 mths: Diptheria/Tetanus/Whooping Cough/Polio/Hib/Men C

3 mths: Diptheria/Tetanus/Whooping Cough/Polio/Hib/Men C

4 mths: Diptheria/Tetanus/Whooping Cough/Polio/Hib/Men C

12 - 18 mths: MMR

3-5 yrs: Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis Polio; MMR

10-14 yrs: Deaf test and BCG;

15-18 yrs: Tetanus & Polio; Low Dose Diptheria

So no mention of this one. I mean I knew it was Meningitus C, but why does she need it again?
