Blood result health

I had bloods taken due to joint/muscle pain, sleep problems, tiredness and headaches. Doctors wants bone profile, parathyroid and magnesium repeated as they where abnormal. Any reason or conditions that would cause this?

Low serum calcium in the bone profile possibly. Which can also be an indication of vitamin D deficiency or hypo parathyroid ism. Or I think high serum calcium can mean hyperparathyroidism. That would explain the parathyroid blood test. The best thing would be to ask for a print out of your blood test results with the reference ranges. You are entitled to this information under the data protection act. It is not unknown for doctors to proclaim your results as "normal" when they're not really. It's quite possible to work out what the blood tests mean using reputable google results sites like NHS and so forth. Often there are indicators/explanations of what the blood results mean on the full results the doctors get back.
