Had my tonsils out on last Monday but the pain seems to be getting worse - it feels so bruised! Some of the yellow stuff (whatever that is) came away and i must have swallowed it yesterday (sorry if TMI).

I am in agony, and have been taking my painkillers but even this morning i woke up in a bad way. Surely i should be feeling better by now?

The yellow stuff will be the scar tissue. It is disgusting, but unfortunately you do end up swallowing it.
Hope you are feeling better this morning, but if you are not either go to your GP or to A&E. You may have an infection.
Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for your advice - i went to the docs and yes, i do indeed have an infection. Was given antibiotics and think they are beginning to work although it is still VERY painful down my throat.

Bugsy - is the yellow stuff really scar tissue? It was huge and all over the place but is lessening as the days go by. In one part it began to go black, is this ok?

Also, does anyone know if or when i will get the results of the histology report? Or even a follow up appointment?
