My dd2 who is just 1 has a cold which seems to be getting better apart from the coughing, she coughs so hard that she vomits, any ideas?

I plan to take her to the dr on monday, but I went last week and the dr just said it was a bad cold and nothing could be done.

I wouldn't worry if she seems ok in all other respects. When you have a cold only part of the mucus comes down the nose - the rest goes down the back of the throat & we just swallow it without noticing. The mucus often makes small children sick - you'll probably notice it in her vomit if you lokk. (YUK)

'look' not lokk - oops

Thanks, she seems better this morning and so far, fingers crossed, no vomit. She is my second and yet it is still totally nerve racking when they are ill! Sigh!

You're not kidding. My ds2 announced one day that when we drive over a speed hump or if he stands up quickly he sometimes goes blind in his right eye for a few seconds! My blood ran cold - I was convinced he had a brain tumour or something. To cut a long story short (one optitian, one gp and 2 consultants later) it turned out to be visual disturbance caused by an interruption of the blood supply to the retina - caused by nothing more sinister than the fact that he's growing so fast!
BLOOMIN' KIDS! My mum still worries about me, so we're doomed to a lifetime of it!
