could he of pulled his foreskin back abit too far? Do you know where the blood is actually coming from?

mummydear · 10/11/2006 18:49

Doesn't appear to be in his urine , although he had a nasty bang his back about ten days ago , but they checked at the time his urine for blood .

May have pulled it back too far , was complaining this morning but has got worse.

Says its not painful to wee.

I took my 4yo ds to the doctor in a total panic the other day. I took his pants off to change him and his penis looked like it had a big purple mushroom growing out of it, his foreskin was drawn back completely and looked red, tigh and painful. I nearly had a bloody heart attack, it looked awful.

When the doctor examined him an hour later, it looked pretty much normal apart from the end being red and a bit contused. I don't know what the hell he did to it but I hope he doesn't do it again! The doctor gave us some hydrocortisone cream just in case it does turn out to be infected, but on the whole he seemed to think I was just a bit of a dickhead

It may be nothing , he says its not painful so may see what it is like in the morning , same as tonight I'll still have go to a walk in centre.

Little boys eh ?

I let hubby have a look at it when he gets home he knws about these types of things

Greensleeves - dickhead - funny was it meant to be ?

mummydear · 10/11/2006 19:11

I think I'll see how he is tomorrow and keeping a close watch on it. Many thanks for help everyone.

I hate it when kids have something wrong with them at the weekend !

ooooooooh, just read the link and was squirming. Poor boys/men.

Can I just ask, are you meant to do anything with the foreskin? Or just leave well alone. Also, why could it have been pulled back too far, how would that happen?

(sorry but ds is only 2 and a bit, and dh is circumcised so I can't ask him)

mummydear · 10/11/2006 19:19

I suppose boys are always fiddling with themselves, always have their hands in grumpy little places then go play with themselves - sorry it sounds awful doesn't it !

DS had this once, the doctor said it did look a bit infected but just said,to make sure he was cleaning it properly(pulling the fore skin back in the bath, etc)
She didn't give him any cream, but I put sudacrem on it anyway, thought it couldn't do any harm,it just cleared up on it's own.

popsycal · 10/11/2006 19:35

the advice is NOT to pull the foreskin back when they are so little
clean around it but dont pull it back

TheHighwayCod · 10/11/2006 19:39

balanitus
we had it antiboitics
went ina flash

popsycal · 10/11/2006 19:41

if cod and popsy say it, it must be right....

MegaLegs · 10/11/2006 19:47

ds2 had ballinitis a few months ago. GP said was v.common. Antibiotics sorted it out quickly. Otherwise has he torn his foreskin a little bit. They can still be quite tight at that age and if he's anything like my boys he might have had a bit of a fiddle. DS1 fell on his in the paddling pool (don't ask) and had to go to A&E where a wincing doctor checked him over. Healed very quickly.

mummydear · 10/11/2006 20:25

thanks everyone , hes now gone off to bed , shall have a look in the morning.

boys and their toys eh ??
