Hormone therapy after breast cancer and memory loss

My DM was diagnosed with breast cancer January last year (17 months ago) . She had surgery and radio therapy and is on a 5 year Hormone Therapy. She has had severe side effects and lately she stared having memory problems. For example my parents had a scheduled lunch with friends and an hour before, she wouldn't be able to remember who they were meeting, where and why and other minor absences.

I live in Australia, so it is extremely difficult for me to be so far away and not able to help them, especially my dad who is now very worried and thinking this may be early signs of Alzheimers.
But I have read that hormone therapy can have cognition effects and affect memory. So can someone confirm me this please?

It is not easy for my father to drag my mother to the doctor. She was badly affected by the shock of cancer and I think she may have depression. I am flying home in 3 weeks, but meanwhile I am very thankful for all the wisdom you can share.
TIA
