Baby has really bad nappy rash - it's bleeding

DD2 (10 months) has had sudden onset of very severe nappy rash. It came two nights ago in the space of an afternoon and was bleeding by evening. It's still the same two days on. Bleeding comes and goes but there are definite blister type sores.

It's very red and raw but in a very small area - localised approx 2 cms from her anus.

have been giving her nappy off time but no effect.

Am probably going to try and get her to see a GP tomorrow unless anyone has any miracle options. I've tried Sudocrem - no effect. On Metanuium tonight so will see if that helps.

Poor little mite - it must hurt so much.

Any advice?

When cleaning her bottom, don't worry about getting all the metanium off, it is designed to stick to the sore bits.

When you give her her baths don't put any bubble bath in. Just get an old, clean pair of tights, stuff a couple of handful of porridge oats in the toe and tie up. Then put it under the hot tap when you run the bath. Pop the baby in the bath to play and when you take her out you will see a diffrence. Anothe trick is put egg white on the nappy rash. It creates a seal and seems to work really well.

Thanks for those tips - I always seem to get too much Metanium on as she is so wriggly and so I have excess on my finger in case I miss! LOL.

Interesting tip re oats - why does that work?
