Day after MMR - under the weather

ds had his MMR yesterday; he's just had chicken pox but was definitely over it. He also has had a cough for months but it wasn't worrying him. Today he is full of cold, the cough is significantly worse and he is generally a bit of a poorly pixie. (He's also just thrown up big time but he is a pukey one anyway, particularly after a bout of coughing).

He's struggling to settle but that's probably also because of all the fireworks going off. Plus of course he is teething (16 months - 4 teeth! Am going to be suicidal myself by the time he's done).

All in all, I think he's just 'normally' unwell and the MMR is a coincidence. Anyone else's little one have similar symptoms immediately after?

My Ds who is the same age as yours was fine immediately after the MMr which was a big relief until we were told by a friend who is a GP that it usually takes 9/10 days for the reaction. Sure enough 9 days later he was really miserable, slight temperature, off his food & drink, & generally a bit dazed. It lasted about 4 days. He has the new pneumococcial jab at the same time (which seemed a bit mean) and I couldn't help but wonder if this had made things worse. I felt very guilty for allowing it.

It sounds to me as if he's just a bit under the weather - hope he's ok in 10 days time!

Thanks chocolateshoes - yes, he had the pneumococcal at the same time. Was prepared for a bout of illness 10 days after, just not immediately! I'm sure it's just a coincidence.
