Okay - one day into the colder weather and my lips are already red and sore. Have blistex intensive moisturiser but it's pretty useless - any top tips?

vaseline every time for me... you can buy a small tin of vaseline for 99p from Superdrug, boots etc

vaseline is great but I cant stand it for some reason. I use body shops lip butter.

I recently bought some of the Lush tea tree lip balm and it is great for sore lips. (and cold sores too) It's got a bit of a funny texture - grainy, but my lips have felt much better after using it. Tea tree is good for coldsores too
I did think it was quite expensive compared to the usual stuff I buy

kiehls. not cheap but absolutely fantastic.

Top tip - they all work if you just remember to re/apply them frequently enough. If like me you don't, try Clinique superbalm lip treatment, costs around 8 quid - but it is really good.

Vaseline for us

CMac · 03/11/2006 21:31

Wow - loads of recomendations, thanks. ususally use vaseline but ime it's a better prevention than it's a cure. Need something that will help once the damage is done iycwim

The neutrogena one is good too. I suffer with terrible chapped lips as soon as the cold weather arrives. I put lipbalm on everytime I step out the door. I use the Blistex relief at night. Like Burts Bees too, forgotten I'd bought that.
