something stuck in my eye

I have a little piece of something (feels gritty)stuck in my eye It has been there for about an hour now and I am literally going mad,I have tried eyedrops but it is still there Any tips?

i sometimes get someting in my eye and can never get it out. i rub them so much in the morning i can't open it and it looks like a small black eye! so the only advice i can offer is don't rub it like mad

I am trying not to keep rubbing it but it feels like a piece of grit or something scratchy and is killing me now!So irritating

a litre of saline from an industrail first aid kit!!! or stick your head under the tap and flush it out! it might have gone now, but your eye is scratched and irritated and feeels like something still there...

fill the bathroom sink with cold water and splash your eye for five minutes. I had to do this when I had half a contact lens stuck in my eye that I couldn't grab.

Thanks am off to rinse it again.Am getting to the stage where I may cry(seriously)and hope that will flush it away

Well thankis for all the advice but after a terrible night I was sent to a&e and now have two lots of drops and a bright orange eye were they stained it.it is a corneal scratch and will take a week or two to go OUCH!

That sounds nasty,hope it feels better soon

Actually, bh, unless it is a very deep scratch, you should be feeling better in a day or two.
