My DS2 (3) smells of cheese. ??

Must be weird as Dr Google is unable to help! He's an obsessive tooth brusher btw, its not just his breath.

To start at the 'beginning', when i was pregnant with him and sense of smell increased, all DH smelt of was cheese. That's gone now, but since DS was born, i can always smell it when he's around (realise i probably sound a bit loopy!) if its relevant, he's a very warm child and very sweaty, though i can smell it even when he is fresh out of the bath!!

Noone else seems to be able to smell it, just to make me sound even crazier (perhaps i should have posted this in mental health...?)

Have you checked that he hasn't got something stuck up his nose? I remember a thread a while back where this was the cause of the smell.

Are you usually diary free and can you smell milk he may be drinking?

I can't figure out if he actually smells of cheese and others can smell it or if only you can smell it?

Could it be his scalp? My ds2 gets this and it took a while to realise it was coming from his head. Using a gentle anti dandruff shampoo sorts it but have to do it regularly or it gets yeasty and cheesey again.

For some reason, I'm the only one who can smell it too. Although before we realised what it was, it had got bad enough for other family members to notice the odd whiff.

Scalp is possible!! He has dreadful cradle cap and had long hair til recently. When his brother 'helped' hairdressing, we had to shave his head and saw how bad it was, so did the olive oil thing yesterday and got it off.

I'm not dairy free so cant be that. It is only me that can smell it though. Will check his nose just in case it is that, but i wonder now if it was his scalp. Guess whether i notice it any time soon will tell :)

Have you checked in the crease behind his ears and other less easy to reach places?!

Did you work out what it was Beyond?

I havent noticed it in the last few days, so i'm guessing it was his cradle cap. Thanks for helping me to think im not crazy

I have patches of seborrhoeic dermatitis on my scalp and when I pick it off I know I shouldn't but it feels soooooo good it makes my fingers smell really cheesy, even after they've been washed.

Sounds like its very likely it was that then
