Lasered vein after insufficiency - how long until leg goes back to normal?

I had my big saphenous vein lasered 10 weeks ago, after thrombophlebitis. The lower leg was 1.5-2 cm bigger in circumference than the healthy leg.

Operation went ok, although a lot more painful than expected.
I've been back at the gym, doing gardening, pretty much everything after 6 weeks, but the leg is still swollen.

It's always the same difference to the other leg (1-1.5 cm), both legs slimmer in the morning, and bigger in the evening.

Now it's warmer I notice it more, because i can see the difference.

I have tried asking the consultant but he has not called back.

Has anyone had this EVLT and hiw long did it take for the leg to be the same size as the other one again? Please tell me it will be, I feel too young to have a permanently swollen leg problem.
