My ultrasound for a lump has been brought forward... has anyone had this and had good news?

I have swollen lymph nodes (and one with what feels like a small lump) on one side of my neck and my GP thought they were nothing to worry about but suggested I see a specialist as they had been up for around 6 weeks. I saw the specialist (thyroid), again he said he thought there was nothing to worry about. However he told me he would just do a blood test for thyroid levels to make sure but suspected they were fine. Within a few days of that appointment I had a scan date come through for early May and then last week I had a further letter asking me to go in next week now. I am now horribly worried that something came up in the blood test. I keep telling myself perhaps they had a cancellation etc. but I am not sure the NHS works like that...

Actually, it would be good to hear if anyone had had good or bad news so I can put this in perspective.

Nothing to do with breast scans, but while I was waiting for an mri I got a letter Pilling the appointment forward by several weeks, it turned out their waiting lists had got so long they started running weekend clinics, and arranged for a mobile scanner to park in the car park, allowing them to see people sooner - most people on the list were moved forward. My point is it may be a situation like this, and nothing to do with your personal circumstances /symptoms. I hope you get good news when you go.

Sorry - lymph scans!

Thanks so much that is reassuring!

No problem, good luck for your appointment.

It could be something or nothing. It's possible that a cancellation was made, or there could be a Waiting List Initiative.

Thanks so much, I hope it's the latter as the consultants letter was very reassuring and I think the only blood test he said he was doing was for the thyroid and I am pretty sure that's ok.
