Shortest period ever - start of menopause?

I'm 46, been having regular periods since age 12. Got my period as expected yesterday, except that there was hardly anything and it has stopped already. Definitely not pregnant or anything like that. Usually I get about 5 days of moderate bleeding but this has been so odd. Could it be the start of menopause?

Yes sounds like you are in peri-menopause, the phase leading up to your periods completely stopping. Really common for periods to become erratic, stop, start again and be generally unpredictable, before they stop altogether.
