How does this show itself? I haven't been eating any flour )low card diet for weight loss) for about 2 years but recently started again - I've been getting stomach cramps and bloating after eating it. DD has been complaining of tummy ache after meals sometimes - she used to say it was because she ate too much (as if!) but I've noticed that it's only after pizza or pasta.

Could this be some form of food intolerance? Can you develop an intolerance if you cut out a food for a long time? I've also discovered I can't eat Chinese food and assumed it was a reaction to MSG - used to be fine with it.

Any ideas please?

I did an elimiation diet after being diagnosed with IBS and found wheat was the problem - my symptoms sound like yours + diarrhoea. Didn't eat it for 3 years and then found I was OK with it again for 2 more years, and after the birth of DS (5 mo) it came back with a vengeance- to include vomiting this time - and giving DS colic from my milk. Hoping it will go again and not gving wheat to DS till he's much older. It can certainly come and go.

I found I could get a away with a bit of it if it was very greasy (so a samosa isn't too bad) and no sugar but in anything sweet it is worse (no cake). Try eliminating Barley, Rye (which also contain Gliadin) and Oats, which contains gluten, but not Gliadin in that order - I can get away with Oats, but not the other two and barley flour's great if you can use it, especially for bread. Porridge for breakfast again...
