Headache for 4 weeks what could it be?

I've had a headache for the last 3 -4 weeks it is not severe and it moves around sometimes by my eyes sometimes to the back / sides. I wake up with it and it lurks all day with the occasional sharp pang. I have finally made a Dr's appointment and now I am worried. I also have continuos popping / clicking noises in the back of my head / neck not ones that others can hear, but when I move my head its a sound almost like when you get bubbles in your ears.
Anyone experienced anything similiar?

Earlier this year I had a headache that lasted for about 3 months so you have my full sympathy, but mine was all due to stress and anxiety. The fact that the pain isn't always in the same place is a good sign i.e not something too serious, that's what i was told by my GP. Never had the popping sounds though, so you right to go to GP

I thought to start with it was a virus or something but now I have realised that it probobly isn't all kinds of horrid thoughts are going through my head

Albatros, I suffered the exact same symptoms as you, along with the clicking neck noises. The GP's were useless (visited 4 different ones at our surgery), until the last one (a lovely woman!!) diagnosed depression and anxiety. After 4 weeks on AD's the headache/tension has lessend significantly. I now only get a tension headache when I am very stressed/anxious or forget to take my AD's.

Like you, I was imagining all sorts, like aneurisms, tumours, etc etc.... but it was all down due to depression (which I had infact been suffering from for 4 years but had not been diagnosed...)

I am NOT saying you are depressed, but offering it as a cause for your symptoms... (it is more likely than it being a serious complaint...)

Hope that helps...

Thanks peegeeweegeewitch I just got back from Dr he suspects stress / anxiety and does not think there is anything nasty going on. I do not feel that stress etc but I do have some money probs and am fed up of where I am living so maybe it is affecting me more than I thought. He did offer AD's but I have said that i will live with it for now take some nurofen for a week or so and see if I can get rid of it.
Positive thinking needed.
I am glad you have been diagnosed and are recieving treatment and support now, it certainly took long enough
