HELP! My head is probably, actually, falling off - meds advice

Disgusting chest infection, spread to throat, now in ear...felt the drum burst last night and now oozing gunk...in absolute bloomin' agony.

It's just viral, so antibiotics won't help...what can I get OTC apart from paracetamol/ibuprofen that will stop the heat/swoosh/pounding/argh..? And why are ears so disproportionately sore, hm?

I am sooooooo behind with work, and life, need to pack today for hols, coursework due in, almost attempted amputation in the small hours of the night...

You need to see a GP and asap regarding your ear particularly if it is oozing gunk because worst case you could potentially end up with a degree of permanent hearing loss.

I second Attila, if it's oozing gunk you've at least a secondary bacterial infection and need antibiotics.

Ah. OK. Thanks ladies. Just had a little shock when I looked at the pillow from last night and there's blood on it - presumably that's from where it tore?
