Dribbletastic!

My 18 mth old dd is a constant dribbler and it does not stop even if she does not appear to be teething. She has 11 teeth (only 3 bottom front teeth - should I be worried?). He chin can get very sore with dribble rash and her clothes are constantly wet. Has anyone else experienced this and does it ever stop? Is it caused by theeth or should I be thinking of something else? Thanks all of you!

Mine too, ditto even the 11 teeth but only 3 bottom frnt teeth!

If dd seems to be getting sore (or when the weather was cold) I smear Lansinoh on her chin. DH has loads of cotton hankies that he was given and never uses, so I use them as dribble-bibs. One tied around dd's neck lasts 1/2 - 1hour before I have to change it, and because it's so thin by the time the next one is soaked the first is usually dry. So three hankies last me a day or two before I think they're too disgusting and have to go to the wash.

There are quite a few threads on dribbling! On reading them, I've decided not to worry until dd is nearing 2yo, especially as she is starting to talk and picking up more and more words.

I'm having an illicit surg (should be taking ds to nursery!) so haven't the time to hunt for the threads, but I'll do it later today - promise. IIRC the important things to watch out for in a dribbler are that hearing and speech development are progressing normally.

surf - not surg

prettycandles - you are a star - I had a look last night and found a few messages which reassured me so don't worry about hunting and thanks once again for your help.
