Could it be something you've eaten. I get this if i eat salt and vinegar pringles.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 30/10/2006 20:42

nope - nothing different in my diet at all.

Could you have burnt it a few days ago on hot food perhaps? Where abouts in the mouth is it? Is it sore? Is it red beneath the bit sthat are peeling?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2006 14:28

No, its the whole of the inside of my mouth - ie the inside of my cheeks. No red bits that i can see. Not sore (although I do have a very small bit of sore gum around one tooth but thats not peeling).

I sometimes get oral thrush because of my inhalers for asthma, and when i get it it feels like my mouth is peeling. Could it be this?

covenoveneer · 31/10/2006 14:36

Have you changed your mouthwash/toothpaste recently?

FreakyFloss · 31/10/2006 14:36

How odd VVV- my mouth has been feeling really odd too - not peeling as such but has a thick layer of yuck on top of the inside of my lips - my teeth have been feeling really coated too and the inside of my mouth stings when I eat certain things. I hope we aren't dying!

covenoveneer · 31/10/2006 14:38

Gargling with soluble aspirin recently?

covenoveneer · 31/10/2006 14:39

I would get it checked out just to be sure.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 31/10/2006 18:40

Sorry - had to dash off to work....

No change in toothpaste, no new foods, no gargling with aspirin.

I did wonder about oral thrush, but when my DS had it as a baby he had white spots in his mouth, which i dont have. Its literally the inside of my mouth peeling, having swished with my tongue because the surface of the 'skin'(?) feels slightly rough. I also wondered whether it was related to the strange dry throat I had last week where my voice kept going or being croaky/hoarse.

The only thing that has changed in the last 2 weeks is that when I got my rep scrip from GP for AD's, when I changed it up the brand/maker had changed from the previous one. Thats it.

Is that dentist or doctor checked out though COV? (and thank you).

I think there might a some kind of virus goign round because for a couple of weeks I had a sore tongue and the inside of my mouth peeled one day too. It was really really horrible. I can still feel it a bit now. Went to dr and he gave me pastilles for oral thrush even though he didn't think it was that. they did seem to help a bit but I'm not convinced it was the pastilles - I think I just started to get better.

Pennies · 31/10/2006 21:09

Might just add, though, that the day my mouth peeled was the day I rinsed my mouth wth TCP which I would STRONGLY advise against!!!!

LOL Pennies!

Cali - I'm aware of those - DP reacts quite strongly to fruit like that. Not me though.

You haven't had any sulfa type meds lately?

comeoveneer · 01/11/2006 09:42

Sorry had to pop out T or T last night. TBH either doctor or dentist should be able to take a look.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 01/11/2006 11:24

No 'sulfa' meds, jabberwocky.

Will arrange to see the doc i think. thanks COV
