I'm 56 - why am I sharing my dcs' spot creams?!!

I mean really, I can distinctly remember my GP telling me I would grow out of it in my early 20s ..... Terrible skin in my late teens through to my early 30s. Tried everything - antibiotics, homeopathy, lots of sunshine (waiting for the skin cancer) and 3 rounds of roaccutane. The only thing that sort of nailed it was being pregnant - 3 times. To be fair, I've not had much to grumble about since then but I still get spots. Why??!! I'm long since through the menopause and my face is like a shrivelled prune ..... with spots.

I can go for long spells without any, but in the last week I've had 3 painful ones on my chin (always my worst problem area) and I'm starting to fret that it's maybe taking hold again.

I thought it was bad enough reliving the horrors with my dcs', but I didn't expect to still be getting outbreaks at my age. I'm nearly a pensioner for goodness sake!

Any other oldie spot sufferers out there?!!!

39, just been diagnosed with acne rosacea. Gutted. I'm overweight, hair has been a mess since becoming hypothyroid and now my ski is f**d too Hmm

I'm a long time spot sufferer. Sad Possibly not as bad as never did the Roaccutane but did long term abs etc.

The very best thing I've had is Duac gel from the GP. It was unavailable for ages but recently back on their lists and my god, it's the first time for years I've been spot free (ish). I've also had some 'proper' facials and been hyper vigilant with skincare but I think it's the gel that's really helped. I'm 49.

Spots plus wrinkles. Bad combination.
