Acute Tonsillitis and now blister(?) on uvula

I'm in the middle of my worst ever case of tonsillitis. It has completely floored me and I'm just about managing water. Its horrendous. Now the delightful white on my tonsils is starting to decrease but I've got what looks like a large blister dangling on the end on my uvula.. Its so bloody painful. The uvula also seems to be more attached to the back of my mouth than usual. Anyone ever had this? Do I need to get back to the gp? I did go yesterday for stronger painkillers but it wasn't there then- typical!

Could it be a quinsy?

Sounds awful whatever it is, I'd go back to gp and get it checked. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Quinsy - go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for replying. That had crossed my mind. I've phoned and there are no appointments but a dr will phone me back soon. I've managed to take a photo of it too so can email him that to convince him to see me too.

Thanks again! I just want to feel better!

They called me and asked me to go straight in to see dr- I think they had the same thoughts as you'd had. I've now been given another lot of antibiotics to clear the blisters up but it doesn't look like quinsy at the moment thankfully.
Thanks again for responses.

Phew. Mine developed into a massive throat abscess that had to be surgically drained. It was starting to obstruct my airway! Now if anyone mentions anything to do with tonsillitis it sends me into a bit of a panic!

I can imagine! That sounds so scary! At least we should have caught it now and I'll know what to look out for. I'm campaigning to finally have these evil tonsils removed. At least this should help my case! (Crosses fingers firmly)
