BBC article

I suppose it was expected, but still unwelcome news.

I had thought the outbreak was coming under control, but I also noticed today that MSF are still appealing for funds. I guess it's really important that efforts to control the disease continue until everyone is really sure there are no more cases.

It's coming under control, but not there yet. Liberia has no current Ebola cases (if they can keep that up for another three or four weeks they'll be officially Ebola-free). In Guinea and Sierra Leone the rate of cases is remaining pretty stable BUT they are starting to be concentrated into a smaller area, which is a good start. But there's a lot to be done still.

BBC Breakfast has just reported that she is on her way to the UK for treatment at the Royal Free.

Does anyone know if there is a new supply of ZMapp?

A proper clinical trial of ZMapp was due to start in Liberia at the end of February, so I assume stocks have been replenished (although I don't know what's going to happen to the trial if Liberia remains Ebola-free).

Very glad to see in the news yesterday that she is recovered.

Far from glad to clock this: BBC article on a health emergency declared in 5 regions of Guinea plus increase in case numbers in Liberia and Sierra Leone as well.
