Ive had a pain in my left buttock for about 2 months since I had that cough cold virus in January. I know in the scheme of things it's quite a minor thing compared to some of the ailments I read on here.
It's like a muscle ache that seems to come on throughout the day - is this what it is? It seems to have been around a while and I'm wondering why it's taking so long to go.

I was going to suggest trapped nerve Had one with both my pregnancies around 5 month stage and the pain was in my right buttock both times. However I would say it was a sharper pain as opposed to an ache. 2 months is a long time though for anything minor or unexplained so I would get it checked if I were you.

I had something similar and it turned out to something to do with the piriformis muscle. Had never heard of it before, but apparently it's a small muscle deep in buttock. Bloody painful, and had to do lots of stretching. Worth a trip to doctor or perhaps physio.

Muscular pain. Could be sciatica, could be piriformis, could be another muscle entirely.

GP first, and then when they can't do anything for you and have ruled out anything truly sinister, osteopath/massage therapist if you have enough funds, or go on the waiting list for a physio appt.
