DD lost alot of hair at 2.4 - she is now 2.10 and it has grown back completely but she was virtually bald on the front half of her head for 3 months. The hair loss was diffuse not patches. When I was 33 (and following a nasty illness) I lost all my hair for a year, starting with a 50p sized patch and it all grew back. We took DD to the GP who was worried and sent us to a paed. who wasn't worried at all - so be prepared for contradictions. Paed. told us it could be lack of zinc/iron or thyroid or seasonal (like animals losing their coats) or we might never know. He said hair loss in children was a common thing and often he found no cause but was confident of regrowth. Get referred to a paed. asap, the tests are really quick it it may offer you some reassurance. I remember how distressed I was when DD was losing her hair and wish you all the very best. I'm aware it is Friday night and you will probably be worrying until next week so hope you can find some comfort.
