my dd is 4 months old and for the last 2 days has had a red check on her left side, has been warm there to touch but is now. Any idea's what it can be?

I would guess teething.

shazzaronnie · 26/10/2006 11:13

could it be wind burn?

depends if you've been somewhere windy!

red , warm cheek on one side, usually indicates teething...if it is dry or scaly...apply a little aqueous cream..unlikely to be anything to worry about!

it does seem to go away when she falls asleep thou???

my DD has had alternate red & scaly patches on each cheek since she was 4 months old too........hers definitely related to teething.....is your DD dribbly & trying to stuff her hands in her mouth...when you rub her gums does it seem to help her?

shazzaronnie · 26/10/2006 11:41

I haven't tried rubbing the gums cos i wasn't sure what it could be? she has been dribbling alot yeah and also trying to get everything???

Still sounds like teething to me. There are lots of products out there if you want them but I was recommended ANBESOL when I had my first baby so tended to use that. But only if you think your baby is in pain.
