Itchy, sore breast(s) - does anyone recognise these symptoms?

For about the last couple of weeks, I have had on and off symptoms:

mainly in the left breast, but can be in both
sometimes a sort of itchy nipple
sometimes itchy somewhere else in the breast
sometimes that heavy sensitive feeling I used to get before a period started (no longer have periods)
sometimes a slight pain
sometimes a general soreness, often in the armpit, very occasionally and momentarily radiating down the arm or into my neck

The overall way to describe it though would be to say a soreness/sensitivity in the breast with an on off itchy nipple.

I have obviously thought of breast cancer. I have examined myself and can't feel any lumps and nothing looks different from normal, though I have to admit normal for me are lumpy looking nipples Blush.

I have a long history of indeterminate symptoms in various parts of my body. I freely admit I am a hypochondriac. I am also a very stressy person so the slightest symptom sends me into a flurry of panic.

I know I will be met by a whole host of people saying go to the GP but I am embarrassed to go with yet another symptom that means nothing to the doctor and which goes down on my record as another example of my hypochondria. Plus, I already have a routine mammogram booked for 2 weeks times anyway so presumably, if the GP did suspect breast cancer, I would hardly be diagnosed any more quickly than I would be under the routine scanning.

I have obviously googled but nothing seems to fit my symptoms which is another reason I think I am panicking about nothing.

Can anyone offer me any comfort along the lines of 'oh yes, I had this and it turned out to be nothing.'

If you have a routine mammograms booked in a couple of weeks why don't you ring them up and ask for an earlier appointment. Tell them your symptoms and let them make the decision. As you say your doctor probably wouldn't be able to get you in much quicker anyway. But anything to do with your breasts should be investigated. Who cares if your doctor thinks you're a hypochondriac - he's paid to see people like you. In your heart you know what's best for you. Get yourself seen and put your mind at rest

yes I had this
Was a cyst, had a mammagram in half term and it was all cool
Pain is rarely a problem they said

Good idea to ring up to see if there is an earlier appointment. I confess this is driving me to distraction at the moment.

Datahub, I am pleased you recognised my symptoms and said you are fine. But also a bit scared to think I may have even a cyst. Has there been any treatment for you?
