Are vitamin D and vitamin D3 the same thing?

I used to take vitamin D3 alone and found it was helping me in some aspects.
Now I started to take a multivitamin which has vitamin D in it. Can I continue taking vitamin D3?
Advices would be really appreciated.
Thanks in advance. Flowers

Best take medical advice. D3 is most readily available form for your body to use but you need specific dosage advice.

Vitamin d3 is a form of vitamin D. So your total vitamin D intake would be what is in the multi, plus the D3 you take separately.
