Sclerotherapy/Nerve damage/GP's/Vascular surgeons...anyone!?

I had sclerothrapy on my hand in Oct last year, all went well and no problems until this week. Cue major swelling and pain. GP gave pain relief & anti inflammatories. Now my entire finger is numb/pins and needles, which is one thing the surgeon warned to watch out for. Phoned hospital and they have no record other than vague procedure notes and the surgeon has since passed away. I need to be rereferred to their vascular team. Called GP, GP I saw is not in but will leave a message for her... would I be unreasonable to go to A&E today, I'm really worried about nerve damage etc and would I even get seen or just sent to GP for referral

Thanks for the reply FabULouse. I'm keeping an eye on colour, feeling etc. Got a callback from the oncall who is going to refer me asap to vascular team. She basically told me not to worry as long as long as the colour is good.

@MumtoD Hello, sorry to revive this ancient thread but I have just undergone the same procedure of sclerotherapy to the hands last week. I was just curious if you ended up healing well? My hands look smoother already, but one unexpected side effect is that all my wrist and arm veins are so much stronger! I'm really hoping they calm down over the next few months but I guess that will be the pay off for messing with mother nature (always a catch!). Anyway I hope your pins and needles came to nothing and that it worked out fine! GG
