I am 26 YO, and 18 mths ago, i was having episodes of numbness on my left side(face, tounge, arm, hand, fingers), slurred speech, unable to say words i wanted to say (couldnt even say my own dd's name), left side of vision was blurred. These attacks only lasted a few hours at a time but i was hainvg 3-4 per week.

I had a MRI which showed nothing at all, and was put on beta blockers to try and control the symptoms...it seemed to work.

Fast forward 18 mths and since last night my left arm, hand, fingers and face are numb again and incredibly weak. My auntie's boyf has MS and says it sounds like exactly what he went through in the beginning, and that MS is hard to diagnose, he said the biggest idicator is the fact i have gone such a length of time with no attacks and now they are back again.

Does anyone know anything about MS? the symptoms? diagonsis?

Hello pucca, sorry to hear you are experiencing this. My sister has MS. Im afraid i do not have a practical answer for you but can recommend the MS trust for support, their website is MStrust.org.uk

I do know that is hard to diagnose, it is more a case of ruling out everything else. I would see GP again and ask for a specialist referral. There are now specialist MS nurses in many health authorities so maybe you can get access to one of these more quickly than a consultant.

Hi,
I work with people with MS-I echo the other poster. It is hard to diagnose and the MS society is an excellent resource.Definately go back to your Dr.

Try not to panic though-difficult as it may be.Your symptoms might be MS.Or they might be alot of other things..Good luck-always here if you want a talk..
