Copper coil just came out in my mooncup should I be worried?

Just went to empty my mooncup and my copper coil was sat in it. Had the coil for a couple of years but only been using the mooncup a few months. Anyone had this happen? Should I be concerned and rush to the doctor? Could it have hurt me on the way out? I feel OK, little wobbly in the knees as its a bit weird. Maybe my body doesn't want it anymore.

If it spontaneously expelled and you aren't bleeding more than you would expect to be with your period, then I wouldn't worry unduly.

You will need contraception though!

Thanks. I think it spontaneous expelled, could the mooncup pull it out? I always break the seal before removing. I put my mooncup back in so will check the bleeding in a bit.

Not much chance of sex in the next few days so good for contraception!

I'm not sure re the Mooncup - I've seen it more commonly happen with tampons.

Make sure you get your contraception sorted before you get going again Wink
