she's 4 and came home from school with a headache and then got temp (38.5-39.00) - quite hot in night and still has headache, temp this am. me and ds have had fluey bug, so probably the same. do I need to take her to GP? don't think I do but dd is so seldom poorly she must be feeling really lousy to admit to it, iyswim.

Have you given her calpol or something? Does it help?

dinny · 18/10/2006 08:09

yes, Calpol does help. just worry when it's a headache, you know? she's had a little bit of breakfast and is drawing a picture atm...

Keep a close eye on her if any other symptoms develop (I'm sure you'll do that anyway!) If calpol helps then that's a good thing, also if she's eating and drawing they're also good signs.

and make sure she's drinking anough, especially as her temperature was quite high.

what other symptoms, Belgo? stiff neck. rash...anything else?

Things like sensitivity to light, general lethargy and aches and pains. Her high temperature could have caused her headache.
